Educational Program
LGCDC/Shining Star Educational Institute Inc.
It comprises Shining Star Child Development Center which provides educational enrichment programs to children ages 5 -15 years throughout the year. Shining Star CDC is licensed by both the Maryland State Department of Education and DC Public Schools.
Programs include a year-round before and afterschool program and summer camps. Shining Star recognizes that each child has unique talents, learning styles and personality, its highly qualified staff work to provide optimal social, emotional and educational results.
LGCDC/Shining Star program also provides services to parents of children enrolled. The adult education component will provide evening classes to parents interested in improving skills for job purposes. It aims to provide computer training, tax prep, and English as a Second Language (ESL) and Spanish classes.
